Blog #2

I remember when I was four years old, me and my dad would read Scooby-Doo Curse of the Lake Monster, every night because I loved it so much.

When I was little I did not read much, but when I did I would read for hours. One day me and my dad were reading the book and I remember this joke Shaggy told. He said “Look at that van! It’s purple, so it must be the Daphne van.” I don’t know why I found that so funny as a kid but I did. In the story “the gang” go out and try and solve the mystery of the Lake Monster, who had been scaring people for a while. They went around, trying to get hints from people, on the mystery. Eventually, just like in every Scooby-Doo book/movie, they use Scooby and Shaggy for bait to try and capture him with Fred’s trap. It worked! They caught the bad guy and took off the costume. I think Scooby-Doo is the reason I like reading mystery books. The pictures also gave so much context to me when I was little, sometimes I would just go off the pictures in the book, which is what my sister does now that she’s six. I still have the copy of the book and I read it to her while she looks at the pictures.
